Introduction
ScrapKabadi is an online scrap collection, recycling and material-buying platform operated by scrap kabadi, having its registered office at Inner Cir, Connaught Place, 110001 New Delhi, India (“ScrapKabadi”, “Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”).
We operate and manage www.ScrapKabadi.in, together with our related websites, applications, digital platforms, communication channels and services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”).
This Cancellation, Rescheduling & Failed Pickup Policy (“Policy”) explains the circumstances under which a pickup request may be cancelled, rescheduled, declined, suspended or subject to an applicable cancellation, mobilisation or failed-pickup charge.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Pricing Policy, Pickup Policy, Payment Policy and other applicable policies available on the Platform.
By creating a pickup request, confirming a pickup, accepting a quotation, providing material details, communicating with our team or otherwise using our services, You acknowledge that You have read and understood this Policy and agree to be bound by the applicable terms.
Why Cancellation Rules Are Necessary
Scrap Kabadi aims to make scrap selling simple, transparent and convenient. A confirmed pickup may require the Company or its authorised collection partner to allocate a vehicle, driver, collection executive, loading staff, labour, route capacity, fuel, travel time, warehouse capacity, partner resources and special handling arrangements. These resources are reserved specifically for a Customer’s pickup. Last-minute cancellations, no-shows or failed pickups result in avoidable operational costs. This Policy is designed to create a fair balance between Customer flexibility and responsible booking.
Customer-Friendly Cancellation Principle
We understand that plans can change. If You no longer wish to sell Your scrap, You should inform ScrapKabadi as early as possible. Early cancellation is generally free before the pickup enters the applicable operational stage. Once a vehicle, driver, labour team or collection partner has been assigned or dispatched, different cancellation conditions may apply. The applicable conditions and charges, if any, will depend on the stage of the pickup and the terms communicated to You.
Pickup Request Stages
For operational purposes, a pickup request may pass through one or more of the following stages:
- Pickup request submitted
- Request received
- Customer details verified
- Material information recorded
- Estimated value or quotation provided
- Pickup slot requested
- Pickup slot confirmed
- Vehicle or collection partner assigned
- Vehicle/collection executive dispatched
- Collection executive arrives at or near the pickup location
- Material inspected
- Material weighed
- Material accepted
- Material collected
- Payment/transaction completed
Cancellation Before Pickup Confirmation
You may generally cancel Your pickup request free of charge before the pickup schedule is confirmed, provided that no special service, commercial arrangement, vehicle mobilisation or other chargeable operational commitment has already been made. Where technically available, cancellation may be completed through Your account or booking interface. Customers are encouraged to cancel as early as possible if they have changed their plans.
Cancellation After Pickup Confirmation
Once a pickup has been confirmed, ScrapKabadi may reserve operational capacity for Your request. If You cancel after confirmation, an applicable cancellation or operational charge may apply where such charge was disclosed to You during the booking or confirmation process.
For standard pickups, the applicable late-cancellation amount may be up to ₹499 per confirmed pickup, subject to the terms displayed or communicated for that booking.
Cancellation After Vehicle Dispatch
Once a vehicle or collection executive has been dispatched, the Company or its collection partner may already have incurred operational expenses. If You cancel after dispatch, the cancellation may be classified as a Late Cancellation or Vehicle Dispatch Cancellation. An applicable disclosed cancellation or mobilisation charge may therefore apply. This may include situations where You change Your mind, receive a better offer elsewhere, have already sold the material, no longer need the service, ask the driver not to come, refuse collection after dispatch, become unavailable, provide an incorrect address, or otherwise prevent the confirmed collection.
No-Show / Failed Pickup
A pickup may be classified as a Failed Pickup if ScrapKabadi or its authorised collection partner is unable to complete the collection because of circumstances attributable to the Customer. Examples include: no authorised person available, Customer does not answer calls, Customer refuses access, material is unavailable or already sold, incorrect address provided, required building/site permission not arranged, material not ready, Customer refuses inspection or weighing, Customer materially changes the order at the time of collection, or Customer otherwise prevents the collection. Where applicable, the disclosed failed-pickup or operational charge may apply.
Customer Selling the Material to Another Buyer
Customers are free to compare prices and choose where they wish to sell their material. However, Customers are encouraged to complete their price comparison before confirming a pickup. If a Customer confirms a pickup and subsequently sells or transfers the material to another buyer after operational resources have been allocated or dispatched, the pickup may be treated as a late cancellation or failed pickup. Any applicable disclosed charge may therefore apply. This provision does not prevent a Customer from choosing another buyer. It exists to protect genuine operational commitments made after a confirmed booking.
₹499 Late Cancellation / Mobilisation Charge
Where applicable to a standard pickup, ScrapKabadi may charge a ₹499 late cancellation or vehicle mobilisation charge when a Customer cancels after the applicable operational stage communicated during booking. The charge is intended to address operational deployment associated with the confirmed pickup.
The ₹499 amount will not automatically apply to every cancellation. It may apply only where the relevant charge was disclosed, the applicable triggering event occurred, and the booking terms accepted by the Customer provide for such charge. Different charges may apply to commercial, bulk, industrial, special-vehicle or specially arranged pickups.
Commercial and Bulk Scrap Pickups
Commercial and bulk scrap collections may require additional planning and resources. These may include office scrap, factory scrap, warehouse scrap, construction scrap, industrial scrap, retail scrap, institutional scrap, bulk metal, bulk e-waste, multiple appliances, large quantities of ACs, commercial refrigeration equipment, machinery scrap, and other high-volume material. For these pickups, ScrapKabadi may arrange dedicated vehicles, multiple workers, loading equipment, special transportation or other resources. Accordingly, separate commercial cancellation and mobilisation terms may apply. Such terms may be communicated through quotation, purchase/order confirmation, email, WhatsApp, commercial agreement, booking interface, or other written communication.
AC Pickup Cancellation Terms
AC pickups may require additional operational planning because an AC may be installed, partially dismantled, completely dismantled, located on a higher floor, in a restricted-access area, connected to electrical systems, or located in a commercial facility. Customers should accurately disclose whether the AC is installed, dismantled or ready for collection.
If special resources are arranged based on the information provided by the Customer, and the Customer subsequently cancels after deployment, an applicable disclosed cancellation or mobilisation charge may apply. If dismantling, loading or collection has already commenced, cancellation may generally no longer be available.
Other Appliances
The same principles may apply to bulky products such as refrigerators, deep freezers, washing machines, geysers, coolers, TVs, large electrical equipment, computers, servers, UPS systems, batteries, and other bulky electronic or electrical products. The Customer should provide reasonably accurate information regarding quantity, size, condition and accessibility.
Material Availability
Once a pickup has been confirmed, the Customer should keep the booked material available until collection. The Customer should not intentionally sell the material elsewhere, remove material components, significantly alter the quantity, transfer ownership, dispose of the material, or make the material inaccessible. If the material is unavailable when the collection partner arrives, the booking may be treated as a failed pickup.
Incorrect Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information. This may include name, mobile number, pickup address, material category, number of items, approximate quantity, approximate weight, product condition, installation status, accessibility, and other information requested during booking. If material information is materially different from the information provided, ScrapKabadi may revise the valuation, request additional information, reschedule the pickup, arrange different logistics, decline the pickup, or treat the visit as a failed pickup where appropriate.
Site Readiness
Customers must ensure that the material is reasonably accessible at the confirmed pickup time. For commercial, industrial and bulky pickups, Customers may also be responsible for arranging security access, parking permission, loading access, building permission, lift access, site representative, material access, loading area, and other reasonable site requirements. Failure to arrange necessary access may result in rescheduling or failed pickup treatment.
Wrong Address or Inaccessible Location
If the Customer provides an incorrect, incomplete or materially misleading address, ScrapKabadi may be unable to complete the collection. Where a vehicle has already been dispatched, the resulting visit may be treated as a failed pickup or late cancellation. Customers should verify their address and access information before confirming the booking.
Rescheduling
Customers may request rescheduling before the pickup enters the applicable operational stage. Rescheduling is subject to availability. A rescheduling request does not automatically guarantee the same price, pickup time, vehicle, collection partner or quotation. Market prices and operational conditions may change between the original booking and the new pickup date. Repeated rescheduling may be treated as a cancellation or booking misuse where it causes substantial operational disruption.
Cancellation After Material Collection
Once material has been physically collected by ScrapKabadi or an authorised collection partner, cancellation of the pickup is generally not available. After collection, the material may already have entered the Company’s operational process, including transportation, weighing, sorting, storage, segregation, processing, or transfer to an authorised recycling/processing partner. Any dispute concerning the transaction should be raised promptly through Customer Support.
Inspection and Final Valuation
Any price displayed or communicated before physical inspection may be an estimate unless expressly stated otherwise. Final valuation may depend upon actual weight, material category, quality, condition, quantity, recoverable material, missing components, damage, contamination, market conditions, transportation costs, and other applicable factors. If the actual material differs materially from the information provided, ScrapKabadi may revise the quotation or decline the transaction.
Ownership and Authorization
The Customer represents that they have the legal right and authority to sell or hand over the material. ScrapKabadi may request reasonable proof of ownership or authorization for certain materials, including high-value electronics, commercial equipment, industrial scrap or other sensitive materials. If satisfactory documentation is not provided where reasonably required, ScrapKabadi may decline or suspend the transaction.
Stolen, Suspicious or Unauthorized Material
ScrapKabadi does not knowingly purchase stolen, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized material. If there is a reasonable concern regarding ownership or legality, ScrapKabadi may suspend the transaction, cancel the pickup, request documentation, restrict the account, or cooperate with relevant authorities where required by law. The Customer remains responsible for ensuring that the material is lawfully available for sale.
Prohibited or Unsafe Material
ScrapKabadi may refuse material that presents a reasonable safety, legal or operational risk. This may include hazardous, explosive, illegal, highly dangerous or otherwise restricted materials. The Company may also refuse collection where the pickup location creates an unreasonable risk to Customer, employees, drivers, collection partners, vehicles, property, or third parties.
Collection Partners
ScrapKabadi may use authorised collection partners, logistics providers, recyclers, transporters, dealers or other service providers to complete certain pickups. The Customer agrees to cooperate reasonably with authorised personnel involved in the collection. Customers should use official ScrapKabadi communication channels for cancellations and disputes. Informing a driver or partner alone may not constitute formal cancellation unless the cancellation is recorded through an authorised channel.
Customer Confirmation
For selected bookings, ScrapKabadi may require an additional confirmation before dispatch. The Customer may receive a confirmation through phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email, website, application, or other authorised communication. The Customer may be asked to confirm that the material is available, the address is correct, the pickup time is suitable, the information provided is accurate, and the Customer understands the applicable cancellation conditions. Failure to provide confirmation may result in postponement or cancellation of the pickup.
Genuine Emergencies
ScrapKabadi understands that genuine emergencies can occur. Customers facing circumstances such as medical emergencies, family emergencies, unexpected travel, building restrictions, severe weather, access problems, or other genuine circumstances should contact Customer Support as soon as reasonably possible. ScrapKabadi may review the circumstances and, at its discretion, waive or reduce an applicable charge where appropriate. Any such waiver is discretionary and does not create an automatic right to future waiver.
Repeated Cancellation and Booking Abuse
ScrapKabadi may monitor booking activity to protect its Customers, employees and collection partners. Repeated or abusive behaviour may include repeated last-minute cancellations, multiple no-shows, duplicate bookings, false information, fake contact details, repeated price manipulation, intentionally blocking pickup slots, repeatedly making material unavailable, misuse of multiple accounts, or other conduct that causes unreasonable operational disruption. Where appropriate and subject to applicable law, ScrapKabadi may require additional confirmation, restrict future bookings, suspend an account, decline certain pickup requests, or take other reasonable action.
Company-Initiated Cancellation
ScrapKabadi may cancel, postpone or reschedule a pickup where reasonably necessary. Reasons may include vehicle unavailability, partner unavailability, safety concerns, incorrect Customer information, restricted material, legal requirements, severe weather, road restrictions, government orders, technical problems, operational limitations, unsafe site conditions, or circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control. Where ScrapKabadi cancels a standard pickup for reasons attributable solely to the Company, an applicable Customer cancellation fee will generally not be charged.
Force Majeure
ScrapKabadi will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These may include natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, fire, severe weather, government restrictions, curfews, strikes, civil disturbances, road closures, transport disruptions, public emergencies, network or infrastructure failures, or other events beyond reasonable control. Where reasonably possible, ScrapKabadi may offer an alternative pickup time.
Refunds and Adjustments
Where an advance payment, booking deposit or other amount has been paid, any refund will be processed according to the applicable payment and refund terms. Where a valid cancellation, mobilisation or other applicable charge has been accepted and is legally recoverable, the Company may adjust the applicable amount from a refundable deposit or other amount where permitted. Refund processing time may depend on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer or other financial institution.
Cancellation Process
Customers may request cancellation through the official methods made available by ScrapKabadi, including customer account or booking page (where available), official customer-support phone number, official WhatsApp number, official email address, website support channel, or other officially designated communication channels. Customers should provide booking/order ID, registered mobile number, pickup address, and reason for cancellation, where requested. Providing complete information helps us process the request quickly. A cancellation is considered effective when it has been successfully received and recorded through an authorised ScrapKabadi channel. Where available, ScrapKabadi may provide a cancellation confirmation through SMS, email, WhatsApp, website, application, or other digital communication. Customers should retain the confirmation for their records.
Cancellation Disputes
If You believe a cancellation, failed-pickup or mobilisation charge has been incorrectly applied, You may contact Customer Support. Please provide booking ID, registered mobile number, date of booking, pickup date, cancellation time, relevant communication, payment information (if applicable), and any supporting evidence. ScrapKabadi will review the matter based on available booking and operational records.
